Company Magazine Competition!

Hello and merry Christmas! Just two day to go, very exciting!

Well, last week I entered a competition at Company Magazine which the chance to illustrate for them early next year. Yesterday the finalists were announced and I was one of the final 17! Unfortunately I didn't win (the winner's work was very lovely!) but I was very honoured to be included in the final 17, which you can see here!

As well as me, a couple of my wonderful twitter friends were chosen, including  the lovely Rachel Price from Tea and Crayons! :) Very proud to be in there with her!

The image above is the image I entered into the competition which you can now see on their website! You can also find this image in the wonderful Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration which is out now!! Please go and buy it, i'm ever so proud!

Hello!

I hope you are all having a lovely week and are not too stressed in this run up to christmas! I can't believe it's only 5 days away! This week i'll be wrapping presents (i'm a little too excited about this, i hope they'll be really fancy and beautiful- I shall take photos!)

Just thought i'd share these mono-prints I did back in my third year. I want to head to the print room when i'm back at university and create lots of mono-prints that can be used in my illustrations as textures and backgrounds! Also planning some at home printing over christmas.

Photoautomat

The newest illustration I wish to share is one I produced for Amelia's Magazine. The post is on Photoautomat, a wonderful analogue photo booth seen in Germany, Berlin and many other European countries. Well now there is one in London!

The article is a fantastic read, and includes an interview with Alex Kokott, the London representative. I was very proud of my illustration and the post includes many wonderful photos!

Christmas Cards

Hello!

Today my lovely Christmas cards arrived. I decided to get them professionally printed because  I believe it is that finished quality that's important, especially since this is all to help me (and my fellow illustration students) raise vital funds for our final shows!

Since my camera is being a pain, I only have a couple of photographs of the actual products. The quality, as it always is from moo, is amazing. So happy!

They look great don't they? The others that I haven't been able to photograph are shown below.

If you are interested in purchasing any of these cards, please do not hesitate to get in touch, either through my blog, twitter or email me at yodalpip@hotmail.co.uk

Willow Organic Beauty

Last week I illustrated an image of Willow Organic Beauty for Amelia's Magazine

I chose to illustrate one of their beautiful pieces of jewelery (champagne ribbon and white pearl bracelet) rather than the other skin care products. I did this because I wanted to produce something a little different and knew this would work nicely in my style. The article includes an interview with the founder Sue Stowell, and you can read the whole article and see the other fabulous illustrations here.

I think the delicate colour palette is quite representative of the brand itself, and I am rather proud of it! :)

Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration

It's not long now until the fabulous Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration will be ready, don't forget you can still pre-order now though!

Today, Amelia's been sharing some photos of the proofs she's been sent, and they are looking fantastic! The wonderful designing she has been busy producing works perfectly against all the beautiful illustrations. I can't wait to see it complete, if these proofs are anything to go by it's going to be stunning!

It will be a fantastic gift for anybody interested in fashion, illustration, design or art, I am sure! If you like any of these, you will love the book!

I'm so happy with how my pages are looking in this snap-shot! Look how fabulous that writing is (in my favourite colour too!)

The above pages show the fabulous work of Abi Daker.

These wonderful pages contain the work of Jennifer Costello.

The colourful works of Natsuki Otani.

Fabulous pages from Rachel de Ste. Croix, I love how the illustrations work with the design!

Finally, a snippet of beautiful pages containing the work of Bex Glover.

Well, I'm more excited than ever now, and there's not long to wait! x

Inspiration: Ada Zanditon

I thought I'd write a blog post about the wonderful ethical fashion designer Ada Zanditon. Her work is structural, bold and colourful. It is truly inspiring!

I love that her work is so high fashion, yet so environmentally friendly, it is something she has always tried to emphasise and the fact she is so committed is wonderful. She knew she wanted to be a fashion designer from the age of six, and after numerous internships, launched her own label in 2008. I can't believe how well she is doing after such a small amount of time - she has an amazing future ahead!

All images by Amelia Gregory of Amelia's Magazine.

Such stunning pieces I'm sure you'll agree! Fashion design is not the only talent of this inspirational lady, she is also a very talented illustrator! Take a look at some of her images:

Her illustrations also include a lot of the colour, shape and texture that can be found in her fashion designs - stunning! Don't forget to check her work out, you won't be disappointed! I did a short interview with her recently, the results of which I will be sharing soon, so keep an eye out! :)

Christmas Cards

I've been planning out some Christmas Cards- mainly for selling at our course fundraising night this month!

Just wanted to share some ideas i've come up with, it's mainly a bit of re-touching old illustrations! :)

They're certainly matching the weather outside!
