Just like them, we have a special kind of chemistry..

A few month ago I entered an illustration into the first issue of Compound Magazine. It is not up online yet but you can download it here. Take a look, it includes some beautiful illustrations, including entries by fellow Tea & Crayons members Rachel Lewis and Rachel Price.

The theme for the magazine was 'chemistry'. Each artist/writer picked a song they felt represented this theme and created a piece based on it. It made me think about my mum and dad and the wonderful chemistry they always shared. One of their favourite songs was Love is All Around by Wet Wet Wet, so being the sucker for love I am, I produced a piece based on that song of me and my boyfriend.

I hope you like it, I'm very honoured to be involved with the first issue, I'm very impressed by the presentation and work throughout! The mix of different interpretations is great!

Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration and Illustrated Christmas Cards!

When it comes to inspiring stuff, this christmas has been wonderful. Firstly I got these two wonderful books from my sister:

They're both stunning and I would certainly recommend purchasing them if you're at all interested in pattern or even just illustration.

I received some very beautiful Christmas cards from illustrators this year, it's a privilege to have them up in my home!
The first card on the left is from the very lovely Natasha Thompson. It's so delicate and sweet and just what I'd expect from her,  i love! The second, with a very sweet polar bear is from Kayleigh Bluck. It's so cute, I really adore it. The very beautiful robin at the front is from Rachel Price and it's such a gorgeous piece, I love the dashes of colour in it, perfect! Finally the very gorgeous, hand-illustrated fashion piece is from the fabulous Dee Andrews. I feel so honoured to know these girls and have cards from them, check them out they're all fab!

One of the best gifts this year was the arrival of the beautiful Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration. It's simply stunning, I'm so proud! Big well done and thank you to Amelia Gregory! Here are some photos I wanted to share!

Here are some of my pages, I'm so pleased with them! I was completely surprised and excited to be first in there too!

I'm obviously very proud of fellow Tea & Crayons member, Natasha Thompson, whose pages are all stunning!

Also, someone I consider a friend now, the lovely Faye West, check her out too, she's talented and lovely!

I hope you're all having a wonderful new Year! :)

Tea&Crayons

Hello everyone! It's a new week and I'm sure that means lots of new illustrations to show!

You may remember me mentioning Tea & Crayons a while ago. Well, it has finally launched over on the blog. Today's post is introducing the first member: Rachel Lewis.

Tea & Crayons is an illustration collective combining the talents of me and five other ladies who met through twitter. We enjoy talking silliness, drinking tea (most of us) and illustrating! For now we'll be using the blog to share ideas, work and inspiring stuff. We have big hopes for the future so we'll keep you posted!

The collective includes the following lovely ladies, all of which you should definitely follow:

As well as this, I was I am a featured illustrator over on Handmade by Emily's blog! The piece is wonderful and I feel very proud that she wanted me as one of her featured illustrators. Natasha and Fritha have also been up there! She always has interesting articles and beautiful creations, so you must go and follow her blog! :) She also has sweetest things available to buy on her Folksy sight.
