London Fashion Week A/W 2011 Illustrated Menswear Day Round-Up

Here is my last London Fashion Week illustration. My illustration for Astrid Anderson was really fun to produce. I loved the bright, extravagant colours and textures. You can read the Amelia's Magazine fashion show review here.

I love the colours of the clothes!! I tried something a little different with the background and foreground colouring.

London Fashion Week A/W 2011 Menswear Day Catwalk Review: KTZ

Another of my London Fashion Week illustrations has been published on Amelia's Magazine today. You can read the article written by Matt Bramford here. The clothes are stunning and I particularly loved illustrating those sunglasses! They are amazing.

I hope you like what I've done and you can see lots of other beautiful illustrations by Lesley Barnes, Jo Cheung and June Chanpoomidole, all fabulous illustrators who can be found in Amelia's Compendium of Fashion Illustration.

Enjoy! Abby x

London Fashion Week A/W 2011, Catwalk Review: Corrie Nielsen

My next London Fashion Week piece is fro an Amelia's Magazine review of the Corrie Nielson show. Witer Helen Martin writes, "Big shoulders, high necklines, victoriana, huge circle skirts, sashes over shoulders, trouser suits with extra long legs and short jackets, balooning at the middle slightly, and beautiful midi length skirt suits with puffed shoulders." Sounds amazing doesn't it? Read the full review here

With so little time to get this piece together, I concentrated primarily on the clothes, as this is, of course, the most important part!

I liked the contrast between the really light clothing and the darker background. I enjoy these super quick (and I mean quick) illustrations as they really loosens you up!

London Fashion Week A/W 2011 Womenswear Preview: Les Chiffoniers

Next up is my illustration for a preview write up of Les Chiffoniers on Amelia's Magazine. As they are known for their incredibly skin-tight leggings, I felt that this must be the focus of the illustration! Hope you like it.

London Fashion Week A/W 2011 Catwalk Review: Prophetik

My latest illustration is for a London Fashion Week review by Hels Martin. The piece in Amelia's Magazine also features illustrations from the wonderful Gemma Milly. Do go and take a look at the review, the clothes are beautiful!

Before my love for fashion illustration, I doubt I'd be so excited about London Fashion Week, but now I love everything about it. Maybe some day I'll get to go myself, but for now illustrating it will certainly keep me happy!

London Fashion Week Preview: Rachel Freire

Well, this week, along with website design (which is coming along quite nicely!) and dissertation writing (coming along less well..), I have been doing a couple of London Fashion Week preview illustrations for Amelia's Magazine. I'm really excited about doing a few one night deadline pieces for London Fashion Week, which starts on Friday. The rush that is needed is really exciting and can produce some great pieces!

Before my love of fashion illustration took off (thank you Amelia!), London Fashion Week didn't mean much to me. Yes, I like clothes but I generally didn't really know what was going on. Now, I find it so exciting, love the clothes and love seeing photos taken on the catwalk!
My first illustration is of Rachel Freire and is for this wonderful interview with Matt Bramford. It's a great piece and I must say this is one of my favourite illustrations to produce so far! I loved how fascinating the clothes were and the detail I could add :) I hope you like it too!

Tonight I am doing another, this time with an over night deadline! Oh and before I leave, I now have a facebook illustration page, so please like if you like! :)

Ada Zanditon Illustrations!

I was absolutely ecstatic to be able to do more illustrations of Ada Zanditon's clothing! Having already illustrated some of her previous collections for Amelia's competition, I knew i'd enjoy doing more.

This time the illustrations were for a London Fashion Week review in Amelia's magazine.

You can see these in the review here. I'm really happy with how these came out, the clothes were just wonderful to draw!! Be sure to check out the other reviews while you're there, there are some beautiful designers and illustrations!

Before coming up with these final images (that included the sculptures from the catwalk) I did these ones:

 Hope you like them! :)

Something New!

Well the last few days i've been working on some food illustrations for Amelia. It's to accompany a blog on her travels to Denmark, and i'm sure she'll talk about her decision to take a ferry across rather than a  plane! I haven't done any food illustration before but i'm very pleased and I'm looking forward to sharing the picture soon..

Make sure you keep checking Amelia's Magazine this week as they'll be doing some fabulous articles on London Fashion Week that starts today!! Exciting! I've offered my services (and also agreed to as a condition to be in Amelia's new fashion illustration book) this week, so i'll be answering some call outs and doing some illustrations of London Fashion Week!!

As well as this, I have two projects for the police - one is some illustrations to go in a leaflet about door and window security and the other is a spot the difference worksheet for children. Very excited about these and the deadlines are quite tight so I know it'll be a crazy few weeks..

Finally, I'm doing something a little different and somewhat riskey! It involves nudity but i'm strangely really looking forward to it. I've started it today and so far I'm happy! I'm back to Uni on the 27th so it's going to be hectic until then, especially since I haven't looked at my dissertation for some time! I know what i'm doing at least..
